Latinus is a university network of Romance-language institutions which promotes cultural diversity within the Romance-language speaking world and beyond. They are committed to developing common projects for training and research, as well as supporting academic mobility within the network, while expanding it to the rest of the world and relying on each institution’s networks. The University of Ottawa joined in 2008.

A linguistic sub-group was constituted, composed of a Canadian university (Sherbrooke) and three European ones (Liège, Paul-Valéry Montpelier III and Trento) which OLBI joined during the winter of 2009. A first collaboration project was launched, in order to encourage transatlantic student and professor mobility through activities benefitting the teaching and use of Romance languages in the context of higher education and specialized contexts of the scientific and business world.
