Take undergraduate courses while in the EIP

All students enrolled in the program’s ESL 0140 course take CMN 1148 — Introduction to Organizational Communication.

Students entering undergraduate programs at uOttawa can take one additional course in mathematics, engineering or chemistry while completing ESL 0140. We’re pleased to offer these additional courses at a 20% discount for students who’ve received conditional offers of admission.

You don't need to study at uOttawa to join the EIP

Even if you don’t start an undergraduate program at uOttawa after completing ESL 0140, you might qualify for a 10% discount on tuition fees for the fall 2024 and winter 2025 sessions.*

Course levels and schedule

The English Intensive Program offers five levels, from beginner to intermediate-advanced. When you apply, you complete a language evaluation to ensure you’re placed in courses suitable to your level.

The program is offered each term (three times per year) and is spread over 14 weeks. All courses are delivered in person (100% in-class learning).

Spring-Summer 2024: May 21 to August 23, 2024
Fall 2024: September 3 to December 6, 2024
Winter 2025: January 6 to April 11, 2025

New students must attend the Integration Day on the Friday prior to the first day of class.
