French as a Second Language (FLS) Courses
Yann Moix is a French author, film director, chronicler. He is the author of several novels, and the recipient of several literary prizes. He is the director of three films. His last book “Dehors” tries to confront the immigration problem in France. This session FLS 4911 invites you to come and read and discuss this issue in French with a defender of immigrants in France today. Learn French but also learn about the culture, the politics, the social and economic issues that this and other European and American countries grapples with. Other activities may include: writing exercises, oral presentations for participants who want to present in French, some grammar by demands or needs, and open discussions on certain “hot” topics. Special attention will be given to develop or improve knowledge of jargon related to fields of study or expertise. Register today!

We offer 10-week regular courses during the Fall and Winter sessions as well as intensive sessions from May to August.
Class Document Correction
Editing and correction of presentations, exams, course notes, etc.
Benefits from the assistance of an OLBI language professor when planning class activities or while preparing for the Employee Language Assessment.
All requests for tutorials must be presented to the Coordinator. After the needs assessment, an application form for bilingual funding will be sent to the requesting professor who must forward it to his or her dean for approval.
Language training courses lasting ten weeks, offered during the regular Fall and Winter sessions.
Competency Evaluation Services
OLBI's Language Testing Services administer language tests to evaluate your proficiency in your second language.
Group training sessions can be customized to your specific needs (i.e. maintenance, research presentations, etc.).
Semi-Intensive sessions are offered during the months of May, June, July and August.
Private consultations for pronunciation. Full-time professors only. Limited space.
Writing courses are offered to professors in order to enrich their English writing skills for academic publications.
