Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE)

The University of Ottawa is a founding member of the IOHE, which was created in 1980 to respond to help develop international relations, improve the quality of academic information, and promote academic collaboration among higher education institutes in the Americas.

At the University, IOHE’s official representative is the International Office (IO), which has asked OLBI to play a key role as a partner for all matters related to languages in this quadrilingual organization (English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese). This has led to the creation of the Inter-American Network for Language Education (RIFL).
